Elijah Amoo Addo is a Ghanaian chef who was recently honoured by Queen Elizabeth in the UK as part of the Queen’s Young Leaders Award.
The chef’s contribution to community development in Ghana is gathering leftover foods from restaurants and other vendors to feed the mentally challenged and needy in the society.
A programme he calls Food For All.
During the rewarding event at the Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth asked the Ghanaian chef if he could cook for her, a request Chef Elijah Amoo said yes to. His plan, not Ghana Jollof.
Chef Amoo plans to cook waakye for the Queen saying in an interview:
“The most fascinating of it all is having to meet the Queen and for the Queen to ask me if I’ll love to cook for her which obviously I said yes. I’m going to cook one of our favourite dishes in Ghana, Waakye.”
This is already mouth-watering.
