Most sought after Nigerian artist at the moment Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie well known as Patoranking has expressed appreciation to Ghana’s most decorated artist in the past decade Sarkodie.
The musician who teamed up with Sarkodie for his top charting new single No Kissing in an interview with YFM Ghana’s Brown Berry on the Weekend Rush revealed Sarkodie made a huge sacrifice for him, one worth remembering and appreciating.
“Sarkodie is someone I respect and my respect for him grew after the collaboration. I remember we were supposed to shoot the video but it was postponed. I wanted to shoot the video in London and he said whatever I wanted to do, I should just let him know. So the day we were to shoot the video, he had a big engagement and had a money meeting and he even showed it to me on his phone and said, don’t worry, let’s go shoot your video and afterwards I will go handle this.”
Speaking on how he got in touch with Sarkodie, Patoranking revealed the process was facilitated by fellow dancehall artist Jupitar.
He said, “Big up to the ETF general. Jupitar is a real brother. He made the whole link up happen. I told him I needed Sark on the vibe and he said Sark was a fan as well and so he was going to call him up. Jupitar called and said Pato wanted to feature him and he sent his email and number and I sent the beat.”
On June 14 2016, Patoranking released No Kissing which features Sarkodie. The song remains one of the most sought after singles on his latest album God Over Everything.
